news.telesweet.net is a public news server which carries text-only newsgroups. It's maintained by a Ukrainian ISP in Sumy.

We've a set of Big 8 newsgroup hierarchies, alt.* hierarchy as well as some regional hierarchies. So, most of text groups are available here.

We keep with care ukr.* and sumy.* hierarchies.

IPv6 available through 6to4 - news2v6.telesweet.net.

We've also introduced several limits which compile our Posting Policy:

Maximum body size per article is 64KB
No double messages
No HTML messages, use plain text only
Maximum Crossposts: 10 groups
Maximum Follow-ups: 3
Your system clock has to be properly configured
Each body line of an article must be shorter than 160 characters
Quoted, blank and empty lines must be less than 90% of total article

Peering

We're always looking for new news peers to improve our connectivity for better Usenet propagation.

Basic requirements:

A static IP-address
A fast Internet connection
A news server software able to handle Usenet feeds (INN > v2.4.1 or Diablo, both free, for example)
Server MUST be online 24x7
Submit data to TOP1000 (submit HOWTO)
Run cleanfeed for filtering out binaries in text groups and spam

This information is needed to setup a real time Usenet feed with us. Casual users don't need these data and can safety ignore them.

Those who wish a feed from us must send a request to <newsmaster AT telesweet DOT net> including the technical data needed to configure it and some information about the site.

All our feeds are provided for free on discretional basis through private agreements between newsmasters.
